The Interbank Electronic Payment System (SPEI, Sistema de Pagos Electrónicos Interbancarios), is the priority system used by the Bank of Mexico, which has been in operation since 13 August 2004. SPEI makes interbank electronic payments between participating institutions and their customers. Said payments are virtually on-line transactions and have become a mission-critical application for the banks.
Five years ago and as a solution for this sector, PRAXIS introduced the product ENLACE SPEI, into the market based on ORACLE WebLogic and Tuxedo, technologies. By means of this product financial institutions can process orders through the bank of Mexico, saving time, money and boosting service efficiency while offering more security to the end user.

ENLACE-SPEI security is based on digitally signed messages. Therefore, the Bank of Mexico issues personalized digital certificates which are authenticated in accordance with the Extended Security Infrastructure (IES, Infraestructura Extendida de Seguridad) rules of the Bank of Mexico.
SPEI FOR NONBANKING FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS
Our Non-bank-oriented system has the purpose of dealing with low volume operations of institutions such as Brokerage houses, Foreign Exchange offices, Insurance companies, Investment companies, Retirement Fund Managing companies (AFORES, Administradoras de Fondos para el Retiro), Limited Purpose Financial Institutions (SOFOLES, Sociedades Financieras de Objeto Limitado), among others, authorized by Bank of Mexico to operate this System.
